| Children’s Liturgy of the Word The purpose is to gather the children and explain the readings of the day in a way they can comprehend. It was formed in November, 2001, and today we have five groups. After the Opening Prayer of the 10am Mass at St. Peter Chanel's, the children from prep to year 6 are called forward and, after they are blessed by the Priest, are taken to the class room next door. Having begun with a prayer the readings are explained and questions are asked. The children also have activity sheets. Time is spent telling the children about the different parts of the Mass and how to behave in church. They return to the church after the homily. |
