Mass for the Sick.
On 11 February 2012 is the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. It is also the International day for
the sick. There will be a special Mass for the sick in our Parish at 2.00pm. To the carers
please let the parish office know if you need a ride to help the sick to and from the church.
'Getting it Rite'
Liturgy Formation for Lent & Easter Seminar on Saturday 11 February 9:00 am - 3:15pm.
Supports liturgical ministry and leadership of the faith community. It is suitable for all engaged
in pastoral ministry including liturgy teams, catechists and RCIA teams. Venue: Thomas Carr
Centre, 278 Victoria Pde, East Melbourne.
Perpetual Adoration-
Please think about committing to a weekly holy hour were you can spend 'one-on-one' time
with the Lord. We urgently need adorers for Sunday 12noon; Tuesday 1pm; Monday 3pm

National Apology Day-
This coming Monday 13th February at 8am - 10am Location - Birrarung Wimam Installation,
Birrarung, Marr Park (near the Art Play building, behind Federation Square. Everyone
welcome to attend.
Appointment of His Reverence Leslie Tomlinson as Bishop of Sandhurst.
There will be a Mass at St Patrick's Cathedral at 7:30pm on Thursday 23rd February to
farewell Bishop Tomlinson. All are welcome to attend.
Gospel of St. Mark-
Fr Brendan Byrne SJ will give a talk on the Gospel of St Mark on Thursdays 8th & 15th
March at 7:30pm at Christ the King Primary School Hall. Parking available in the school
grounds, entrance is at Morgan St., Braybrook. A project of our Sunshine Deanery.

Is on Tuesday 14th February at 7pm.
21 February Tuesday at 7pm is enrolment Night for the Sacraments.
Ash Wednesday- 22nd February.
The imposition of ashes is done during the masses of the day at 8:00am and 7:00pm
Preparation for the Sacraments:
Catechism Classes for children attending government schools will commence on Monday 27
February 2012 at. 7:00pm. Families who would like to enrol their children must attend the
Information and Enrolment Night on Tuesday 21 February at 7:00pm at St Peter Chanel Hall.

Young and Old who would like to receive the sacrament of Initiation are invited to come for

Lenten Retreat
We shall have a parish retreat in our Church to be conducted by Fr. Gilbert Carlo SVD. This
will be only every evening at 7:30pm-9pm on the first week of Lent starting 27 February. With
the retreat we hope to follow the journey of Jesus saving power to us. Fr. Gilbert Carlo, SVD
has been conducting scripture based meditative retreats since 1989. He is based in Boronia,
Victoria.
Fr Rob Galea and Gary Pinto LIVE Performance:-
Sunday 25 March, 6pm. Hosted by the Flame Youth Group, this live concert will be held
outdoors in the car park. Supporting acts include David Lemewu and Chris Eaton and other
supporting musicians.

Volunteers
We are calling parishioners to commit yourselves to an hour a week Adoration. We still need
volunteers as mass readers or commentators, Altar servers, Power point operators. Call Fr.

MASS IN DERRIMUT
There is a mass in St Lawrence school in Derrimut every 3rd Sunday of the month at 5:00pm.
This mass is open to the community especially those living around the area.
JUNIOR LEGION OF MARY -for children aged 7-16yrs.
Meet Wednesdays 3:15pm at St. Peter Chanel' s School.
Children are taught to pray the Rosary, devotion to Our Lady and other activities.

CHILDREN'S MASS.
We are encouraging parents to bring their children to the 10 AM mass, designated as the mass
for the children. The children have the opportunity to have a short fun-learning session about
our Faith under
the guidance of a team of catechists
ADORATION CHAPEL
The purpose of the Holy Hour is to encourage a deep personal, encounter with Christ (Bishop
Fulton Sheen) Our Adoration Chapel has been open for 24 hours a day since 2005 and has
brought many blessings on our Parish as well as individuals. We are always looking for new
adorers to commit to a weekly holy hour to continue this wonderful grace, Pleas consider
spending just one hour a week with Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament and discover for
yourself the answer to life's problems.
